Tucked away at the foot of the beautiful Sabie Valley, Bergdale Cottages offers a peaceful countryside escape just minutes from some of South Africa’s most iconic attractions. With six charming cottages set within our working homestead, Bergdale is the perfect base for exploring the Kruger National Park and the famous Panorama Route.

Life at Bergdale has its own rhythm. Weekday mornings bring the gentle hustle and bustle of farm life — the perfect natural wake-up call before heading out on your day’s adventure. Friendly resident horses may wander over to greet you (they never say no to a carrot!), while Nyala, Blesbok and Impala can often be spotted nearby. Around the farm you’ll also find chickens, guinea fowl and ducks, who are always happy to receive leftover fruit and vegetables at the chicken house.
 

Each of our cottages is designed to offer the comfort of a true home away from home. Spacious bedrooms feature luxurious king-size beds with quality linen, air conditioning and ceiling fans, with modern en-suite bathrooms. Everything you need to relax after a day of exploring.

The fully equipped self-catering kitchens include all the essentials — even an air fryer — making it easy to prepare your own meals. Comfortable lounges offer armchairs or sofas, a flat-screen smart TV with DSTV, as well as complimentary WiFi.
 

Outside, every cottage has its own private courtyard with a braai area (including a traditional potjie pot) and a covered stoep with large comfortable chairs — the perfect place to unwind with a drink while enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Each cottage also has its own gated entrance for added privacy and convenience.
 

For guests who would like a little extra help during their stay, we offer optional daily servicing of the cottage at an additional fee of R300/day. Laundry services are also available at R250/load.
 

We love sharing our local knowledge with guests and are always happy to help plan your adventures. Whether it’s recommending the best Kruger Park routes, guiding you along the Panorama Route, booking activities in Hazyview or securing a table at a great local restaurant, we’re here to help make your stay unforgettable.
 

Bergdale is conveniently located just 12 minutes from Phabeni Gate, one of the closest entrances to the Kruger National Park, 2 km from local shops, and 25 km from the charming town of Graskop.
